Konga is about four kilometers south of the town of Yirga Cheffe and nearby both Harfusa and Biloya. The Konga growers cooperative is a small group of farmers who have set themselves apart by processing naturally- This process leaves the seeds (coffee beans) inside the fruit and dries them on raised beds. The result is something special.
The Konga micro region of Yirgacheffee is popular for both its strong citrus and supportive stonefruit flavors of peach and apricot, and when this is combined with natural processing as this YirgaCheffe is, the result is totally unique qualities of dark fruity notes of black rasberry, dried cherry, and cranberry. If you’ve ever had dark chocolate covered blueberries- this would be the coffee to have with them!
